About CoinVac
What CoinVac Is — and Isn’t
CoinVac is a small, independent site built around six free calculators for crypto and coin math, plus written guides on Bitcoin, altcoins, staking, mining, crypto tax, dollar-cost averaging, coin collecting, and precious metals. That’s the whole scope: help you run the numbers and understand the terms, not manage your money for you.
CoinVac is not an exchange, wallet, or broker. We don’t hold, custody, or move anyone’s crypto, and we can’t execute a trade, file a tax return, or give advice tailored to your specific situation. We are not affiliated with Bitcoin, any exchange, wallet provider, coin or token project, the IRS or any other tax authority, or any grading, minting, or standards body our guides happen to mention — every brand and network named on this site belongs to its owner and appears here only for reference.
CoinVac is independently run and pays for itself through on-page advertising, not subscriptions or an affiliate storefront. Every calculator here turns the numbers you enter into an estimate — nothing more. None of it is financial, tax, or investment advice, and results can be off if the rates, prices, or assumptions you used turn out different in practice. Crypto prices are volatile; treat anything this site produces as a starting point for your own homework, and talk to a licensed tax professional or financial advisor before acting on anything that affects real money.
What You’ll Actually Find Here
The core of the site is six calculators, each aimed at one concrete question:
- Crypto Portfolio Calculator — value a whole portfolio at once: per-coin gain and return from each holding’s amount, buy price, and current price, plus total profit, ROI, and allocation across assets.
- Staking Rewards Calculator — estimate the passive yield on staked coins from your amount, APR, and duration, with simple or daily, weekly, or monthly compounding.
- Crypto Tax Calculator — split short- and long-term gains by holding period, apply your rates, offset losses, and see the net gain and the tax you might owe.
- Crypto Profit / Loss Calculator — work out the realized profit or loss on a trade from your buy price, sell price, quantity, and fees, plus ROI and the break-even sell price.
- Crypto DCA Calculator — model dollar-cost averaging across a series of buys: total coins bought, blended average cost, and current value, profit, and ROI.
- Bitcoin Mining Calculator — estimate mining profitability from your hashrate, network difficulty, block reward, power draw, and electricity rate.
Alongside the tools, the blog covers Bitcoin, altcoins, staking, mining, tax, and coin-collecting topics in more depth, and Learn holds shorter reference write-ups on terms and concepts. If you want the history behind the metal and the code, the Coins & Currency Museum walks through coinage and the mint, crypto and the blockchain, gold, silver, and bullion, and the great coins of the ancient and historic world, using material and images sourced from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons.
How the Numbers Are Built
Each calculator uses conventional, publicly documented math rather than anything proprietary: compound interest for staking (simple, or daily, weekly, or monthly compounding), short- versus long-term holding-period splits for tax, weighted-average cost basis for DCA, and standard hashrate/difficulty/block-reward arithmetic for mining profitability. We didn’t invent the formulas — we built a clean interface for them so you don’t have to keep your own spreadsheet.
